Coronavirus and Sickle Cell Live Q&A

Friday 5th November 2021

Over a year on from the previous Q&A, the fourth Sickle Cell Society’s Coronavirus (COVID-19) and Sickle Cell Live Q&A took place on Friday 5th November 2021.

The session started with a presentation from Dr Mark Layton (Consultant haematologist and SCS Medical Adviser) who took us through the most up-to-date data on COVID-19 within the sickle cell population.

The floor was then opened up for questions from members of the sickle cell community from across the country.

The Q&A panel consisted of:

  • Professor Adam Finn (Professor of Paediatrics and Member of the Joint Committee on Vaccination and Immunisation)
  • Professor David Rees (Consultant Paediatric Haematologist and SCS Medical Adviser)
  • Dr Mark Layton (Consultant haematologist and SCS Medical Adviser)
